Holy Name Parish Athletics

Under the direction of the Athletic Director, student athletes of Holy Name Parish & School have the opportunity to participate in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) sports programs.

CYO sports are open to any athlete who is either enrolled in Holy Name Catholic School and/or who resides in a household that is a registered and participating parishioner of Holy Name Catholic Church.  

This group organizes, manages and provides support for all CYO sponsored sporting events at Holy Name.  They create  many of our sports schedules, manage player/coach participation requirements and source locations and referees for our competitions.

The CYO program guides our children in their development of Christian values such as fair play, good sportsmanship, team work, honesty, respect, tolerance, gratitude and humility.  And it reinforces policies established at CYO as well as within those of Holy Name.

Welcome to the Holy Name Giants Athletic Page, where our mission is to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for athletics among young athletes within our parish and school. We are dedicated to providing a positive and inclusive environment that encourages personal growth and development through sports.

Committee Role:
The CYO Holy Name Giants Athletic Committee plays a crucial role in the administration and organization of our athletic programs. Comprised of dedicated volunteers, the committee is responsible for planning and overseeing the various sports leagues, ensuring a compliant and structured environment that aligns with CYO guidelines. They work diligently to schedule practices and games, recruit coaches, facilitate training programs, and conduct regular evaluations to maintain high standards of our athletic offerings. Furthermore, the committee is committed to fostering strong relationships with parents and community members, keeping them informed and involved in the athletes' journeys.

Opportunities Offered:
We offer a diverse range of athletic opportunities for youth at various skill levels, including basketball, football, kickball, volleyball, as well as a few other sports. Each program is designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline, all while nurturing a love for the game and our Lord. Our experienced coaches emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, and fair play, ensuring that each athlete not only improves their abilities but also learns important life lessons.
