Each year the Catholic Youth Organization recognizes outstanding adults and youth whose leadership, service and volunteerism have made a significant contribution to our Parish.
Please take the time to help us recognize the special adults in our parish who give generously of their time and talents for youth, as well as teens who have volunteered to improve the quality of life in our Parish. Listed below is a description of the CYO Awards and their nomination criteria. We ask you to give serious consideration to submitting qualified candidates for each award. You can use the attached form to submit a nomination or use the form found on our website. https://holyname.cc/athletics. Nomination forms can be turned into the parish office, school office or the collection basket. We ask that all forms be submitted no later than Friday, February 14th, 2020. All nominations will be reviewed by approved by Father Bob. Nomination Form is below. You many nominate as many volunteers as you like. Each must be on their own form.
Spirit of Youth Award
Established to recognize Catholic teens for their voluntary efforts in the parish and for their positive contributions in the community.
* Candidates must be a high school student and active in the life of the parish.
* Candidates will be judged on the basis of personal time volunteered and the quality of contribution made.
Monsignor Busald AwardThis award is presented to adult volunteers who demonstrate good moral character, behavior and leadership. Established to give recognition to many volunteers who have not been volunteering long enough yet to be considered for the St. John Bosco Medal.
* Candidates must meet a minimum of five years as a volunteer in the youth ministry programs of the parish.
St. John Bosco Medal
The highest honor bestowed upon a volunteer by the CYO and is designed to honor those who have truly contributed to the physical, psychological and social development of youth. Nominations for this award must include a letter of recommendation validating the nominees sustained commitment to volunteerism and their personal qualities that have contributed to the parish youth (very important).
* Candidates must meet a minimum of ten years as a volunteer in the youth ministry programs of the parish.
* Candidates should have been previously nominated and received the Monsignor Busald Award.The Award winners in each of these categories will be recognized at the Annual Volunteer Awards Ceremony. The event is held the first Tuesday of May at Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral.
