Holy Name offers basketball and volleyball opportunities through CYO to high school students. Registration is in the Fall.
As we get closer to the beginning of the 2019-2020 CYO boys grade school and high school and girls’ high school basketball season, we want to remind all participants from your school or parish they must have registered & paid on the CYO website to participate. Participants that have not registered online cannot be placed on a roster and are therefore, ineligible. Additionally, all participants must have an athletic physical on-file with the AD.
In regard to the CYO boys and girls high school basketball program, participants in the high school age group need to register online as well, even though no physical is required. The high school players can register themselves on the CYO website or their parents can complete the registration process.
CYO High School Sports Eligibility Rules
Players in the CYO high school basketball leagues are only eligible to participate for the parish in which they are registered. If a player’s own parish has a team entered into the league in which he or she wants to participate, that player must play for his or her parish team. If a participant’s parish does not sponsor at team, the participant is eligible to play for a bordering parish, only.
All participants in the CYO high school basketball leagues must be registered members of a Catholic parish or a student at a Catholic high school. No non-affiliates will be allowed to participate in the CYO high school basketball leagues. Non-Catholic students attending Catholic high schools are eligible to play for the parish in which they reside.
