Letter to All Parishioners,
Especially School Families,
on Understanding the Mass
As we begin the school year, I would like to express my deepest thanks to all of you for entrusting your children to our Catholic schools. We are very grateful for each family that is involved in Holy Name, and for your commitment to Make Christ Present in the World!
This year we are asking all Holy Name and Roncalli School families to participate in an evening of
fellowship and learning to help enrich our Holy Name community, and to deepen our collective
understanding of the Catholic Faith. As many of you may already know, the Church is in the midst of a three-year Eucharistic Revival, and this year the revival focuses on the parish community. With this in mind, we are asking each Holy Name family with students at our school or at Roncalli, to come to one of the following presentations on Understanding the Catholic Mass – followed by a cookout for all families who attend.
Thursday, September 14, 2023 – 5:30 to 6:45 PM at Holy Name Church
OR
Sunday, September 17, 2023 – 4:30 to 5:45 PM at Holy Name Church
Attending one of these two presentations is required for all Parish families –
and particularly those families that want to be considered active parishioners and wish to continue receiving the Parishioner discount at Holy Name or Roncalli.
I believe this topic is particularly important for our community; more important any other priorities that might claim our time – particularly because it is so clearly central to our salvation. Above all, the
mission of a Catholic school must be to help our students and their families on the path to salvation, and this presentation is very relevant to that critical mission.
We are so blessed to have so many wonderful families in our parish and schools; please know that I am grateful for all that you do to support Holy Name, and for your commitment to Catholic education. Please know that you are in my prayers,
Sincerely in the Holy Name of Jesus,
Rev. Robert J. Robeson, Ph.D.
