National Eucharistic Congress 2024

Join us on Thursday, July 18 for the Holy Name Day at the Congress. We will be making a pilgrimage downtown to the National Eucharistic Congress. The last Eucharistic Congress in the United States was over 80 years ago, so this should be quite the treat!

Itinerary:

• 7:30 am: Arrive at Holy Name
• 7:45 am: Bus Departs from Holy Name to Lucas Oil Stadium for Opening Mass
• 8:30-10:00 am: Opening Mass at Lucas Oil Stadium
• 10:45-12:15 pm: Impact Sessions (Topics and Locations Below. Choose One)
  • Encounter: Location - Lucas Oil Stadium. Speakers - Katie Prejean McGrady, Sister Mary Grace Langrell, & Monsignor James Shea.
  • Encuentro: Location - Indiana Convention Center. Speakers - Andres Arango, Mabel Suarez, & Bishop Daniel Flores. (Session in Spanish)
  • Empower: Location - Indiana Convention Center. Speakers - Deacon Larry and Andi Oney, Fr. John Burns, and Chika Anyanwu.
  • Renewal, The Ministry Leader Experience: Location - Indiana Convention Center. Speakers - Mari Pablo & Cardinal Daniel DiNardo.
  • Cultivate, The Family Experience: Location - Indiana Convention Center. Speakers - Ennie and Cana Hickman, Fr. Leo Patalinghug, & Steve Angrisano.
  • Awaken, The Youth Experience: Location - Indiana Convention Center. Speaker - Oscar Rivera & Paul J. Kim.
• 12:15-2:00 pm: Break for Lunch
  • Please bring a sack lunch. Holy Name will have a cooler for you to store your lunch during the morning. At lunch, we will take our lunch and find a common location to eat, share, and talk about all that we have learned. The location for lunch is TBD.
• 2:00-3:15 pm: Breakout Session A (Please see the National Eucharistic Congress website for the list of talks and speakers.) 
• 2:45-4:00 pm: Breakout Session B (Please see the National Eucharistic Congress website for the list of talks and speakers.) 
• 4:00 pm: Head back to the Bus
• 4:15 pm: Bus Departs back to Holy Name
• 5:00-6:00 pm: Dinner: A catered meal will be provided at Holy Name for all of our pilgrims. 
  • Any individual or family not going back for the Revival Session can head home after dinner.
• 6:10-6:15 pm: Load up the bus to head back for the Revival Session
• 6:15 pm: Bus departs for Lucas Oil and the final session of the day.
• 7:00-9:30 pm: Eucharistic Adoration & Revival Session
  • Location - Lucas Oil Stadium
  • Speakers - Fr. Mike Schmitz, Mother Olga of the Sacred Heart, Montse Alvarado, Sr. Miriam James Heidland, Fr. Josh Johnson, Dave Moore & Lauren Moore.
  • Description of Evening: Mother Olga of the Sacred Heart and Fr. Mike Schmitz will deliver dynamic keynote addresses, diving into the theme of the evening and preparing us for the prayer experience that is about to follow. Then we will turn our eyes and hearts to the Lord in Eucharistic adoration. Jesus will be the focus as the stadium is filled with sacred music, punctuated by moments of profound silence. This prayer experience will be a contemplative opportunity to connect peacefully with Our Lord.
• 9:30-9:45 pm: Head back to the Bus
• 9:45-10:15 pm: Depart for and arrive back at Holy Name
